The globally beloved rock band, The Hooters, is coming to Greece for the first time and promises to deliver an unforgettable musical experience to the audience in Athens!

Since their formation in 1980 in Philadelphia, USA, The Hooters have become one of the most beloved and iconic bands of the 1980s, combining rock, ska, reggae, and even pop music in an innovative way. The band’s name comes from the characteristic instrument “hooter” (a variation of the melodica), which became a trademark of their sound.

The band was formed by Eric Bazilian (vocals, guitar, saxophone) and Rob Hyman (vocals, keyboards, accordion), two multi-talented musicians who shared their passion for creating innovative music. Their first album, the independent “Amore” (1983), marked the start of their career and brought them closer to fame. This was followed by “Nervous Night” (1985), which established them internationally and went multi-platinum, with hits like “And We Danced,” “Day by Day,” and the masterpiece “All You Zombies.” These songs helped The Hooters create a timeless sound that resonates across different generations.

The Hooters - And We Danced

In the mid-’80s, the band achieved tremendous success both in the United States and Europe, participating in major music events like Live Aid in Philadelphia in 1985, alongside top names in the music industry. The track “Johnny B” from the album “One Way Home” (1987) continued their momentum, solidifying their position at the top of the global charts.

The Hooters have released a total of 7 studio albums, each leaving its mark on rock history:

  1. Amore (1983) – Their first independent release, which earned them great local success.
  2. Nervous Night (1985) – The breakthrough album that made them internationally famous, with songs like “And We Danced,” “Day by Day,” and “All You Zombies.”
  3. One Way Home (1987) – An album with strong folk influences, achieving great success in Europe, featuring “Johnny B.”
  4. Zig Zag (1989) – Influenced by the political and social agenda of the time.
  5. Out of Body (1993) – Exploring more modern sounds of the ’90s.
  6. Time Stand Still (2007) – Another mature work with their timeless signature sound.
  7. Rocking & Swing (2023) – Their latest release, which marks a return to their early reggae and ska roots.

In addition to their studio albums, the band has released various live albums and best-of compilations, keeping their legacy alive. The Hooters have maintained their artistic freshness and connection with fans through tours and performances, continuing to inspire with their passion and music.
