The Hottest Concerts in Athens for 2025
1. 5th Mikri Arktos Auditions
A 23-year-old institution, serving as a window to society and the future by giving voice to emerging creators in Greek art music. On Tuesday, September 2, at Technopolis (City of Athens), the top talents of the 5th Auditions celebrate with 15 young performers bringing 27 brand-new songs. With over 600 participants this year, the event highlights the vitality of contemporary Greek songwriting. Distinguished creators and performers will share the stage alongside established artists, led by orchestration and direction from Christos Theodorou, artistic coordination by Paraskevas Karasoulos, and hosted by Margarita Mytilinaiou & Xenofontas Rarakos. Presented with support from Technopolis, it’s a heartfelt celebration uniting today’s voices with tomorrow’s.
2. The Stratakis Brothers at Technopolis – September 3, 2025
Giorgos and Nikos Stratakis take the stage in Athens for a landmark concert at Technopolis of the City of Athens. Backed by a 10-member band featuring lyra, laouto, and strong Cretan rhythm, they deliver a three-hour celebration filled with passion, tradition, and a modern outlook. After a summer tour across Greece, they arrive full of energy and emotion to bring Cretan music to life in a unique musical gathering. A night of authenticity, rhythm, and intensity you can’t miss!
3. Spyros Grammenos
Fifteen years of recordings. Fifteen years of songs. Fifteen years of mistakes. When he released his first album in 2010, Spyros Grammenos didn’t imagine that 15 years later he would still be celebrating its release – because that’s how things are: when you start out, you say, I’ll put out a record and we’ll see. In the end, he kept making songs, and here it was time to put them all together in one night. Or at least to gather himself at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens.
So, on Wednesday, September 4, at Gazi, Spyros Grammenos is celebrating and will be there, live, with his band, his albums, his songs, his jokes, his serious songs and of course with beloved guests, friends who have sung together or in their own way made him a little better person over the years. We’ll hear the old, say new things, remember why we laugh when we hear his name and celebrate with him. We might even dance. We may even be moved. We might fall in love and years later name our child after him. A celebration concert. A live show about which Grammenos will say: “You were wonderful” and he’ll mean it.
4. Hatzifragketa The Band
After a full summer tour, the band stops in the capital to celebrate with us the “unofficial finale” of the summer. Panos Fragiadakis and Vangelis Hatzigiannis, together with their band, have prepared a program with everything we love: old favorites, new releases, unexpected covers and lots and lots of fun.
What will we hear?
Their sound, a unique combination of arty, rock, rebetiko, reggaeton and humorous lyrics, has made a school – and not without reason. Their concerts are a celebration every time. If you’ve never been to one of their live shows, this is the perfect opportunity.
From the latest tracks to the old, timeless sing-alongs we’ve all come to associate with friends, travel and festival nights. Hadjifrageta are renowned for their energy on stage and direct contact with the audience – and if you’ve been to one of their live shows, you already know that. If not… it’s time to experience it!
5. Planet of Zeus + Khirki
Planet of Zeus celebrate 25 years in the heavy rock scene with an explosive anniversary show at Technopolis. A historic show full of intensity, anthems from their discography and unique stage dynamics.
Khirki, the dynamic trio from Athens that combines traditional sounds with modern heavy rock, accompany Planet of Zeus on stage. With their albums KTNODIA and KYKEONAS, they offer a special musical experience that marries Greek mythology with modern metal.
6. Rapsodos Filologos
“Again and again on the SOS – SOS speakers”
Seven years. That’s how long the Rhapsodos Philologos has been gathering ideas, lyrics, light, darkness and thousands of pages of books, to present his own “Alexandria”, in the year 2021 between quarantine, masks and human distances.
“Lyrical magic through the mobs”
“Alexandria” was an inner artistic necessity, far from the rap records that Rhapsodos had accustomed his audience to, but hand in hand with his so special lyricism, loved for fifteen years. And the crowd was there, and with it the promise of continuity.
“A lighter in a powder magazine”
The last year brought a resurgence. Sold out concerts in a few 24 hours in Athens and Thessaloniki, a new single, new friends hanging out with the old ones and a promise for his best rap album so far. An album that squeezed Solmeister, Astronio, Herc Apostolidis, Lucy and every image, obsession and delirium of his, from whatever universe he sprang from.
“War drums are beating, sirens of panic…”
So Rhapsodos Philologos returns. It will be his first big live show, to celebrate 22 years of recording and to present the sequel to his most classic album: ‘Brain Tect 2: Elegy of an Obsession’ and favourite songs from across his discography. And you’ll all be there to celebrate with him.
7. K.Vita
He is the musician who experimented through electronic sound and acoustic music, while his albums have found thousands of fans and, through his unique poetry, he has accompanied us in our loneliest moments. K.Veta created soundscapes of rare beauty, while his poetry introduced us to his inner world. His love between guitar and synthesizers created his particular style of contradictory sound. On Wednesday, September 10, the poet of electronic music, K. Beta, will meet us at Technopolis to take us on a journey through his songs and music. In this concert he will keep us company with songs from the whole spectrum of his music, from his first albums to his most recent “The Hand”. He will be joined by his favorite musicians, his band, and together they will take us to his unique electronic landscapes.
8. LILA – Live at Technopolis, September 11
LILA, one of the most electrifying artists in Greece’s modern urban-pop scene, presents her debut album APOTIPOMA with an unforgettable EXXXTRAAA live show. Featuring dancers, visuals, and a mix of rap, reggaeton, afrobeat, pop, and Balkan sounds, she promises a night full of energy and party vibes.
9. NIGHTSTALKER | NAXATRAS
Two top bands join forces again! Nightstalker and Naxatras return to Technopolis for a powerful night, after last year’s coexistence that left an indelible imprint on the concert summer of Athens. This year, the date has more than the atmosphere of an explosive live: both bands arrive with their new albums that have already caused a sensation in the Greek and European scene. A double bill of tension, psychedelia, legendary riffs and musical transcendence, with two bands in a perfectly creative phase and in excellent form.
10. Konstantis Pistiolis
On Monday, September 15th, Kostantis Pistiolis will perform with his collaborators at Technopolis of the Municipality of Athens in a concert that includes songs from his recent discography and from his other musical work. Traditional sounds and familiar melodies harmonize with electric and experimental improvisations, creating sometimes eerie and sometimes ecstatic soundscapes. His music accompanies us from acquaintance to initiation and from there to catharsis through a cyclical revelry.
11.RIZES FEST ATHENS
The summer is not going to go away unless we experience RIZES FEST at Technopolis, where the square comes alive again with rebetika, Smyrna and traditional music from the sweet and melodic Retseli. The Nostos Band will take us on a nostalgic journey from Epirus to Crete, while for the first time with us the Kyratzides with their lively sterian brew will take us up to Pindos and down to the islands and the plain. With Xefrago Ampeli setting the pulse, the last summer flip-flops will melt away, while the Gidiki take over to close the evening with their own special magic. A festival full of soul, music and atmosphere not to be missed!
12. Death Disco Open Air Festival – Technopolis City of Athens | August 20 & 21
Death Disco Open Air returns in 2025 with a more powerful lineup than ever. Celebrating alternative culture, the festival features darkwave, synthpop, post-punk, and industrial vibes. If you’re into moody electronic sounds, this is a must-attend event! Expect memorable performances from international and local bands that light up the summer’s darkest, brightest night.
