A tribute to a legend

Each night opens with a special tribute to the great Albert Collins, the “Master of the Telecaster.” His signature sound and unique blues style come alive through a band that knows the genre like few others.

The stage opens up

After the tribute, the night moves into an open jam. Blues Cargo take on the role of hosts and invite blues musicians to step on stage and play with them. Nothing here is scripted. Every encounter creates something new, and each night takes on its own character through the interaction and free expression at the heart of the blues.

Nearly four decades of blues

The Blues Cargo story begins in 1984, and since 1987 the band has carried the name we know today. Rooted in Chicago Blues, with influences from R&B, funk, soul and jazz, they have become one of the cornerstones of the Greek blues scene.

Along the way they have worked with important American blues artists such as Louisiana Red, Lurrie Bell, Eddie C. Campbell, Guitar Shorty and Matthew Skoller. They have also shared the stage with international names like John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers and John Hammond. Their discography includes four albums, from “First Delivery” (1993) to “On Time” (2016).

Today they keep doing what they do best: playing live. If the blues is something you live rather than just listen to, Blues Cargo Jam Nights is the invitation you’ve been waiting for.
