Location: Architektoniki Club Live Stage, Athens
Scott McCloud returns to Athens to perform his debut solo album Make It To Forever. Known as the voice and frontman of the legendary ’90s band Girls Against Boys, McCloud brings decades of experience from the Washington DC punk and indie scene. From his early days with Soul Side to forming Girls Against Boys in New York, and exploring side projects such as New Wet Kojak and Paramount Styles, Scott’s career spans over 40 years.
Make It To Forever was recorded in Athens at Zero Gravity Studio by Dimitris Dimitriadis. Initially minimal guitar sketches evolved over multiple visits to the city, incorporating guest contributions while maintaining the album’s intimate, delicate atmosphere. McCloud’s vocals carry the weight of his long musical journey, turning his songs into narratives that blur the line between memory and reality.
“In a way, all relationships are just conversations. Some are brief sparks that fade as quickly as they appear. Others last longer or pause for years before resuming. Some may never end. Years ago, our band Girls Against Boys gave one of those unique, dreamlike concerts in Athens, a moment that for me embodied a perfect instant in time. Later, I decided to return and record an album in this city, a place almost mythical to me. Recording music in a city that feels like a dream is moving. You feel out of place—like a visitor, a traveler through time.” – Scott McCloud
Alex K and Friends
Alex K & Friends is an acoustic trio featuring:
- Alexis Kalofolias (The Last Drive, The Earthbound, Thee Holy Strangers)
- Stefanos Flotsios (The Last Drive, Screaming Fly)
- Spyros Doulgeridis (Rockin Bones, The Earthbound, False Alarm, Dead Sidewalkers)
Their repertoire blends songs from their bands, covers of beloved tracks, and original compositions. Drawing from folk, blues, American labor songs, singer-songwriter traditions, and acoustic improvisation, the trio distills songs to their emotional core. Using two acoustic guitars, a small drum kit, and three voices, they create intimate performances that leave space for feelings and images to resonate in the listener’s mind and heart.
Since 2017, they have performed at dozens of concerts, mainly supporting social causes, solidarity events, and festivals.
