When a simple idea turns into complete chaos

Victor is convinced that his partner, Stephanie, has fallen for a charming real estate agent. But when he happens to meet a stranger who looks remarkably like his supposed rival, he believes he has found the perfect solution.

His idea is simple: he hires Thomas, a naive but lovable amateur actor, to impersonate the real estate agent and prove to Stephanie that her attraction will disappear once she gets to know the man behind the charm.

But things don’t go according to plan.

A lookalike, a real estate agent, an overly curious neighbour and a series of incredible coincidences set off an explosive chain of misunderstandings. What starts as a seemingly clever solution quickly turns into a whirlwind of confusion, with every new twist making the situation even more complicated.

A Brilliant Idea is one of the major theatrical phenomena of the contemporary French stage. Following its success in France, the play has travelled to numerous countries, including Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey, Finland, the Czech Republic, Argentina and Canada.

Translated into several languages, the play continues to enjoy international success. It has also received two Molière Awards, confirming its place among the most successful and beloved French comedies of the past decade.

An outstanding creative team

Directed by Konstantinos Markoulakis, the production brings together Akis Sakellariou, Thanasis Kourlampas, Sofia Vogiatzaki and Natalia Dragoumi on stage.

The creative team includes Antonis Galeos on translation, Minos Matsas on music, Athanasia Smaragdi on set design, Christina Efstathiou on costumes and Stella Kaltsou on lighting design.
