Aris Papadopoulos Quintet at Theatre of the NO
On Thursday 8 October, Theatre of the NO welcomes the Aris Papadopoulos Quintet, a contemporary jazz ensemble with a distinctive sound, centred on creative interplay and improvisation.
An evening of contemporary jazz, where composition meets creative improvisation.
The quintet presents a programme of original compositions by Aris Papadopoulos, written and arranged for a dynamic line-up of two horns, piano, double bass and drums. Their music moves through contrasting textures, atmospheres and expressive intensities, creating a vivid dialogue between composition and the spontaneity of the moment.
Where structure meets freedom
On stage, the five musicians explore the relationship between structure and freedom. Through experimental improvisation, they reimagine the compositions in real time, enriching them with elements that balance an abstract, free sound with the drive and vitality of mainstream jazz.
