The premier women’s basketball tournament is coming to Greece for the first time!

The FIBA Women’s EuroBasket 2025 will bring Europe’s top players to the courts of the Peace and Friendship Stadium, hosting both the first group stage (June 18-21) and the final phase of the tournament (June 24-29).

The Greek national team, making its 11th EuroBasket appearance, is ready to give its best in front of its home crowd. Their group-stage matches include games against Switzerland (June 18), France (June 19), and Turkey (June 21). Meanwhile, three other groups will take place in Italy (Bologna), Czechia (Brno), and Germany (Hamburg), with a total of 16 national teams competing for the coveted trophy.

“From the beginning, we knew there was no pressure because we had already qualified for EuroBasket as one of the host countries, but these games mattered for the ranking and for us to bond as a team. All the opponents we faced in the qualification window were tough, and we played strong matches that essentially prepared us for EuroBasket. We tried to play each one with intensity and analyze aspects that will help us in our official commitments this summer.
