From Swing to Rock ’n’ Roll: Vanila Swing Live at Theatre of the No
On Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 9:30 PM, Vanila Swing take the stage at Theatre of the No for “From Swing to Rock ’n’ Roll” — a spectacular two-hour live experience celebrating some of the most influential sounds and artists in music history.
What do elegant swing, the raw energy of rock ’n’ roll, and legendary names such as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis have in common? They are all part of a musical revolution that changed the way we listen to, dance to and experience music.
A Musical Journey That Begins with Swing
The journey begins with the elegance of the great swing orchestras of the 1930s and ’40s before gradually moving towards the raw energy and rebellious spirit of rock ’n’ roll in the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.
From American ballrooms and legendary juke joints to clubs and major concert stages, music evolved, transformed and found new ways to connect with audiences. Swing met rhythm & blues, rockabilly and rock ’n’ roll, creating a powerful musical blend that continues to influence artists around the world today.
Throughout the show, iconic figures who helped shape this extraordinary musical era will come to life, including Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Ruth Brown, Gene Vincent, Carl Perkins, Wanda Jackson, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis.
From Benny Goodman to Elvis Presley
“From Swing to Rock ’n’ Roll” is more than a concert featuring classic songs. It is a celebration of the evolution of an entire musical culture.
The sophistication and precision of swing gradually gave way to the freer, more energetic sounds of rhythm & blues. Then came rock ’n’ roll — a new force that transformed not only music, but also fashion, dance, stage performance and popular culture.
Artists such as Elvis Presley, Little Richard and Chuck Berry became symbols of this revolution, bringing an entirely new attitude and energy to the stage.
Vanila Swing bring that spirit back to life with a dynamic live performance packed with rhythm, groove and unmistakable rock ’n’ roll energy.
