Born Sercan İpekçioğlu on July 1, 1990, in Ankara and now based in Berlin, Ezhel’s musical journey reflects the multicultural pulse of the cities that shaped him. Growing up surrounded by diverse sounds — from hip-hop and reggae to Anatolian rock — he began experimenting with freestyle and underground rap battles during his teenage years, quickly standing out for his lyrical honesty and distinct delivery.
His breakout moment came in 2017 with the release of his debut album Müptezhel, a record that would go on to become a cultural phenomenon in Turkey. Seamlessly blending rap, trap, and reggae influences, the album resonated deeply with a generation navigating social pressure, economic uncertainty, and the realities of urban life. Tracks such as “Şehrimin Tadı” and “Geceler” turned into anthems, solidifying Ezhel’s place at the forefront of the scene.
