Humanoid Collective Orchestra Comes to Theatre of the NO
Humanoid Collective Orchestra, the new music collective founded by musician and bassist Dimitris Tsekouras, is coming to Theatre of the NO on Friday, October 23 at 9:30 PM for a unique live performance filled with rhythm, improvisation and cinematic atmosphere.
Seven musicians come together on stage to create a sound that moves freely between neo-soul, afro-beat, funk and jazz. Dynamic grooves, improvisation and diverse musical influences come together in a live experience that constantly evolves.
From Funk and Jazz to Contemporary Sounds
Humanoid Collective Orchestra draws inspiration from different eras and musical scenes. Their influences range from Funkadelic, Sun Ra Arkestra, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock and Fela Kuti to Mulatu Astatke, Pharoah Sanders, Isaac Hayes and Roy Ayers, bringing together key influences from jazz, funk and afrobeat.
At the same time, their sound connects with contemporary artists and bands such as Kamasi Washington, Louis Cole, Cory Henry, Khruangbin, Budos Band and Antibalas, while also drawing inspiration from important Greek acts including Los Tre, Mob Trio, Soul Peanuts, Barakos Orchestra and Harris Lambrakis Quartet.
A Live Experience in Constant Evolution
On stage, musical ideas become the starting point for a collective creative process. Rhythms gradually build, improvisations open up new directions, while powerful grooves alternate with psychedelic passages and cinematic soundscapes.
The result is an energetic and unpredictable live performance, where every musician contributes to a sound that changes and evolves in real time.

Beyond its musical activity, Humanoid Collective Orchestra is accompanied by an artistic manifesto that highlights values such as freedom, inclusion, social justice, peace, and respect for nature and the community.
The collective takes a clear stance against exclusion, violence, racism, marginalization and war, placing its music within a broader context of solidarity, creativity and collective expression.
