Get ready, Athens—Franz Ferdinand is making a much-anticipated return!

A Night to Remember

With over two decades of groundbreaking music, Franz Ferdinand has captivated global audiences with their infectious melodies, sharp lyrics, and unmatched stage presence. Their deep connection with Greece dates back to their explosive debut at Rodon in 2004, a performance still etched in the memories of their devoted fans.

This concert holds an extra special meaning for Alex Kapranos, the band’s charismatic frontman of Greek descent. His love for Athens is evident in “Black Eyelashes” from their latest album, The Human Fear, where he pays homage to rebetiko music, even singing in Greek and incorporating bouzouki into the track.

A long-time admirer of Markos Vamvakaris, Kapranos even participated in a tribute to the legendary rebetiko pioneer at London’s Barbican Hall in 2015.

Franz Ferdinand: A Legacy of Innovation & Energy

Emerging from Glasgow’s underground scene in 2002, Franz Ferdinand took the world by storm with their fusion of rock, punk, and indie sounds. Their self-titled debut album (2004) became an instant classic, featuring the iconic anthem “Take Me Out”, a song that defined an era and launched them into international stardom.

  • Two Brit Awards
  • A Grammy nomination

They followed up with critically acclaimed albums such as:

  • You Could Have It So Much Better (2005)
  • Tonight: Franz Ferdinand (2009)
  • Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action (2013)

Their 2022 greatest hits collection, Hits To The Head, reignited their fans’ passion, celebrating their most beloved tracks while paving the way for new creative directions.

The Human Fear: A Bold New Chapter

Their latest album, The Human Fear (2024), is an electrifying journey through human emotions, exploring how fear fuels our most defining life experiences. Fear makes us feel alive, whether in horror films, extreme activities, or facing pivotal moments in life. The album pulses with intensity, pushing the band’s sound to exhilarating new heights.

With Alex Kapranos and Bob Hardy at the creative core, Julian Corrie, Dino Bardot, and Audrey Tait bring fresh dynamics to the band’s evolving sound. Tait’s debut in a full-length Franz Ferdinand album introduces an exciting new rhythmic energy.
